Laura and Philip

Laura and Phil were married At Johns church in Boxmoor. A gorgeous local church, it was surrounded by  green and tranquil parkland. They then travelled to Hemel Hempstead football club where they celebrated their reception in a beautifully decorated room, dancing the night away under soft pink lights.

Here is their story…

Laura arrived at her hotel in high spirits, excitement clear to see as she almost skipped inside…

..When told their room is not ready for them, some brides might panic as their carefully crafted timeline is thrown into disarray at the first hurdle.

Not this bride! Laura’s response was simply to set up in the hotel lobby, starting the makeup and preparations without missing a beat…

…”I bet you have never had a more disorganised bride” Laura joked. I smiled back at her, what I saw was far from disorganisation, but evidence of someone who could adapt to whatever life could throw at her and do it with a smile. Laura’s bridesmaids were scattered around the room getting ready in hurried little groups which Laura navigated effortlessly, sparing time to chat and talk to her bridesmaids all while getting ready herself…

Outside, the sun shone, and birds sung in the trees. Nearby a game of cricket was underway while all around people had adopted a relaxed attitude that only a summer’s day can provide.

Inside the church, Philip was nervous. He friends and relatives filled the church while he talked with his best man, his voice strained as he tried to pass the time, each minute feeling like an age.

As soon as Laura arrived, his face changed and lit up in a fantastic natural smile, his nerves forgotten in an instant as she walked towards him…

…he spoke in a clear voice and everyone listened in perfect silence. It more than a reading it was a son telling his parents he loved them now and forever…

…they had done it! Both overjoyed to be married, they had a spring in their step as they walked hand in hand together, through their guests and out into the bright sunshine…

…in his mind he could have been at Wembley as he ran, arm outstretched, ball in the back of the net…

…On the dancefloor they kissed as the music of  their first dance played around them. It was a single perfect moment in a day filled with perfect moments and as they turned together every part of them said “I love you”…
